DBehind the Dispatch Desk

Dispatch life. Saint Louis perspective.

Behind the metrics.
Beside the drivers.

I’m Draya. I write about the people, pressure, and practical work behind the last mile.

An honest dispatch journal for dispatchers, DSP owners, and operators who want to build a stronger team—without losing the human part.

A note from my desk

The numbers tell one part of the story.

They don’t tell you what it feels like to see a problem coming and still be unable to stop it. Or the relief when a driver you’ve been coaching finds their confidence. The frustration, anxiety, laughter, and pride all belong here.

We’ve faced an accelerated ramp, revolving staffing doors, charging failures, demanding routes, claims, call-offs, and conflict. I love my drivers. I want them to feel supported, succeed, and get home. That’s what keeps me writing letters, building training, and turning hard days into something useful.

The last mile, locally

Saint Louis deserves more than a pin on a map.

Central West End and North City are part of this story. The buildings, blocks, and people deserve local knowledge and respect—and drivers deserve plans that account for the work on the ground.
